A Spectacular Spec

My name is Adeleke. I am a conquering crown, recherché royalty, matchless, masterpiece, and jaw-dropping gem in God’s treasure chest. I am designed to dominate, nourished with nobility, garnished with grace and lavished with infinite love.

God’s Love looks good on me, it’s beyond beautiful — bodacious, blameless and breathtaking.

I am an embodiment of marvellous light, glowing at the intensity of everything that dares to outshine a billion galaxies.

I am a perfect medley of divinity and humanity. Robed with eternal beauty and splendour. Everything about me exudes eternal excellence.

I come from a sacred bloodline, I am bred from an ancestry of self-healers, mountain movers and territory takers. My body is holy ground and my soul, heaven on earth.

I am a spectacular spec. Genotype: divinity. Blood type: royalty.
My worth is eternal, my faith is phenomenal.

Different Sounds One Symphony

The human body comes in different colours but the human soul is colourless, just different flavours of divinity from the Source of life — many graces, one God. We are different verses in one universe.

The world will be distasteful without diversity, and no doubt our world will be in disarray when there is disunity. Imagine a world where everyone has the same talent and trait — no vibe, no versatility, just vibrant souls stuck in a void structure.

We are different spirits vibrating at different frequencies of faith and freedom — configured to be creative, made to manifest limitless possibilities.

Diversity is designed to create room for compassion and creativity. Irrespective of our tongues and tribes, we are created to communicate compassion fluently. Love is our universal language. We all are unique sounds in God’s symphony.

God is very the master builder. Everything He made is a masterpiece. Every creation, every colour and every culture are breathtaking beadworks of His multifaceted glories.

No one is inferior or superior to the other, each one of us is an epitome of eternal excellence — lavished with love, garnished with grace and nurtured with nobility.

God is too beautiful to be expressed in one colour. We all are a part of this divine edifice. Jaw-dropping jewels in a terrific treasure chest. Sparkling stars in a golden galaxy — all shades of love and light.

We all are made in His indelible and ineffable image. We are streams of eternal substance.

“I thank you, High God — You’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvellously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation!”
Psalm 139: 14 MSG

Hidden Tears of Hurting Years

God of my untold stories,
Thank you for bringing me this far.
God of my unseen victories,
Thank you for healing every scar.

God of my waiting years,
Thank you for your matchless grace.
God of my hidden tears,
Thank you for your warm embrace.

God of my hard-learned lessons,
Thank you for your will and wisdom.
God of my sweetest seasons,
Thank you for this faith and freedom.

For the blessings eyes cannot see,
I am forever grateful.
For the precious blood that set me free,
I am more than thankful.

A few months ago, I went through a severe storm that almost made me drown in depression again.

What kept me afloat was the last strand of my faith in God. I have lost many friends in the process, I felt completely lost and lonely. I became weak and weary. I kept my eyes on mountain tops even in the darkest rock bottom.

Life became a dark tale of pain and pressure but through it all, I held onto God, He kept me safe and made me sail through without losing my joy. In the midst of it all, His love became more real to me, His light guided me, and His joy was my strength. I am still healing. I am still believing in God for total restoration. My faith still stands in the deep.

In all of this, I have learned to be thankful even when I’m going through hell and high water. God knows, God sees, God hears. Thank you for reading.

Be encouraged my friends. Praise Him even in your pains.

To The Lonely One – A Poem

Don’t let loneliness dilute
the sweetness of your soul.
Rise to the truth of your royalty,
amplify your graces with audacity.
Like the sun, sparkle in solitude,
embrace the beauty of your reality.
You are too unique to be cheap,
don’t put yourself up for clearance.
You are God’s priceless treasure,
tear off the price tags and labels
that limit the visibility of your divinity.
You are not a biological accident,
don’t live like an emotional specimen.
All of God flows freely within you,
find your voice, value, validation,
voice, and victory in your divinity.

Portrait of Possibilities – A Poem

I choose to be a sacred sanctuary.
It does not matter
whether I am a cottage in a slum,
or a castle with a luxury lawn.
Whatever I am,
I will welcome divinity into myself
with arms open wide.
I want heaven’s glow to be evident,
as a signal glimpse of the bliss within me.

If my roof is thatched,
let it be the shadow of the Almighty.
If my tank is half full,
let its content be the water of life.
If all I have left is five loaves of bread,
let it be blessed by Jireh.
I want to hungry, thirsty and desperate
for more of God’s love, light and life.

I want to shine with shalom
when my heart quakes with cares
or when the rod of life breaks my passion
that I silently crash
into a million broken pieces.
A million messy pieces, a million scars
proclaiming God’s mercies
every morning.

I want to lie down in green pastures,
and make God’s promises the pillows
on which I lay my hurting head.
When my thoughts are nothing
but a colourful crown of thorns
that fuels grief and starves my faith,
I will hold them with hope,
and nurture them with truth,
until they evolve into a wreath –
a diadem of grace around my head.

I will not plunge into the pool of self-pity,
panic and pressure.
With joy, I will draw water from the well
of hope and salvation.
Whether the day is dark
or the twilight stars sleep in despair.
God is in this temple, heaven is here.
there is light in tunnels and dark alleys,
there is joy in the valley of shadows.

I am a portrait of possibilities,
I am here to happen, and made to manifest.
I am salt, I am lustrous light,
I am God’s sanctuary.
I am enough.

Tapestry of Testimonials #1

Self-esteem, also known as self-worth, is the impression people have of themselves. The feeling of being valuable and liked. Your self-esteem involves a variety of notions about yourself, such as your appearance, your emotions and how you measure your achievements or failures.

Over the years, I have had seasons when I doubted my worth. Days when I feel unloved and unworthy of life. In some of these moments, by divine providence, some of my friends send nice notes to me in the form of testimonials, quotes, poems or compliments. This helps me to connect to my core and also realise that I am not as worthless as I feel in my darkest hours.

I will be sharing some of these testimonials in my new blog series ‘Tapestry of Testimonials’. Enjoy these beautiful pieces written by my amazing sister and friend from the Philippines, Alerma Grace. We met on Yourquote.in and grew to become best friend’s. I call her my Sweet Sister Bear (SSB)

How do you deal with low self-esteem? Do you think validation from others helps to boost self-esteem?

I Am Enough

I was sauntering,
desperately searching for perfection,
I got broken while passionately trying
to fix this perpetual puzzle.
Who said there is a missing piece?
Who said I need some unravelling?
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

Struggling to prove my worth,
I became blind to my uniqueness.
Some said a facelift is all I needed
to finally find and deploy my gift.
Who said I am broken beyond fixing?
Who said I need to be flawless?
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me

Craving for validation,
I became a slave to conditional love
starved of authentic attention
till I became bereft of inner bliss.
Now I filter people’s opinion about me
with the lens of pure love and light.
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

With the stars I now see within me
never would I be defined by my scars.
I am weak but not worthless,
even if I’m bleeding, I’m still a blessing.
With wisdom, I will fix the fixable,
I won’t mess it all to mend some.
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

The Uniqueness of You – A Poem

You are not a biological accident,
there’s a purpose for your existence.
None of us is a superficial experiment,
everything about us brews excellence.

More than a bag of flesh, blood and bones,
there is a drop of divinity in your heart.
Never to be traded like gemstones,
you are God’s priceless work of art.

The true reflection of your beauty
is the smile you put on someone’s face.
The true measure of your prosperity
is how you make the world a better place.

You’re here to happen, don’t just occupy space,
dare to spread love in all spheres…
Your life is garnished with great grace,
use your allure to shift atmospheres.

You are designed to demystify divinity,
live humbly and make God proud.
You are made to amplify humanity,
live cheerfully and love out loud.

Death is not life’s greatest tragedy,
but a life lived with its true purpose.
To feature in life’s greatest tragicomedy
is to live pursuing another man’s purpose.

No one is better or worse than you,
your deftness and defects divinely align.
Appreciate the uniqueness of you,
everything about you is God’s design.
