Hidden Tears of Hurting Years

God of my untold stories,
Thank you for bringing me this far.
God of my unseen victories,
Thank you for healing every scar.

God of my waiting years,
Thank you for your matchless grace.
God of my hidden tears,
Thank you for your warm embrace.

God of my hard-learned lessons,
Thank you for your will and wisdom.
God of my sweetest seasons,
Thank you for this faith and freedom.

For the blessings eyes cannot see,
I am forever grateful.
For the precious blood that set me free,
I am more than thankful.

A few months ago, I went through a severe storm that almost made me drown in depression again.

What kept me afloat was the last strand of my faith in God. I have lost many friends in the process, I felt completely lost and lonely. I became weak and weary. I kept my eyes on mountain tops even in the darkest rock bottom.

Life became a dark tale of pain and pressure but through it all, I held onto God, He kept me safe and made me sail through without losing my joy. In the midst of it all, His love became more real to me, His light guided me, and His joy was my strength. I am still healing. I am still believing in God for total restoration. My faith still stands in the deep.

In all of this, I have learned to be thankful even when I’m going through hell and high water. God knows, God sees, God hears. Thank you for reading.

Be encouraged my friends. Praise Him even in your pains.

Tapestry of Testimonials #1

Self-esteem, also known as self-worth, is the impression people have of themselves. The feeling of being valuable and liked. Your self-esteem involves a variety of notions about yourself, such as your appearance, your emotions and how you measure your achievements or failures.

Over the years, I have had seasons when I doubted my worth. Days when I feel unloved and unworthy of life. In some of these moments, by divine providence, some of my friends send nice notes to me in the form of testimonials, quotes, poems or compliments. This helps me to connect to my core and also realise that I am not as worthless as I feel in my darkest hours.

I will be sharing some of these testimonials in my new blog series ‘Tapestry of Testimonials’. Enjoy these beautiful pieces written by my amazing sister and friend from the Philippines, Alerma Grace. We met on Yourquote.in and grew to become best friend’s. I call her my Sweet Sister Bear (SSB)

How do you deal with low self-esteem? Do you think validation from others helps to boost self-esteem?

I Am Enough

I was sauntering,
desperately searching for perfection,
I got broken while passionately trying
to fix this perpetual puzzle.
Who said there is a missing piece?
Who said I need some unravelling?
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

Struggling to prove my worth,
I became blind to my uniqueness.
Some said a facelift is all I needed
to finally find and deploy my gift.
Who said I am broken beyond fixing?
Who said I need to be flawless?
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me

Craving for validation,
I became a slave to conditional love
starved of authentic attention
till I became bereft of inner bliss.
Now I filter people’s opinion about me
with the lens of pure love and light.
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

With the stars I now see within me
never would I be defined by my scars.
I am weak but not worthless,
even if I’m bleeding, I’m still a blessing.
With wisdom, I will fix the fixable,
I won’t mess it all to mend some.
I wish I had known that I am enough
and everything I crave is within me.

The Uniqueness of You – A Poem

You are not a biological accident,
there’s a purpose for your existence.
None of us is a superficial experiment,
everything about us brews excellence.

More than a bag of flesh, blood and bones,
there is a drop of divinity in your heart.
Never to be traded like gemstones,
you are God’s priceless work of art.

The true reflection of your beauty
is the smile you put on someone’s face.
The true measure of your prosperity
is how you make the world a better place.

You’re here to happen, don’t just occupy space,
dare to spread love in all spheres…
Your life is garnished with great grace,
use your allure to shift atmospheres.

You are designed to demystify divinity,
live humbly and make God proud.
You are made to amplify humanity,
live cheerfully and love out loud.

Death is not life’s greatest tragedy,
but a life lived with its true purpose.
To feature in life’s greatest tragicomedy
is to live pursuing another man’s purpose.

No one is better or worse than you,
your deftness and defects divinely align.
Appreciate the uniqueness of you,
everything about you is God’s design.

My Sweet Friend – A Poem

Who taught my weary soul to smile,
and helps me go the extra mile
whose arms of love make me agile?
My sweet friend.

Who gives me pleasure in my pains,
and holds my hands in tough terrains
till I harvest sweet golden grains?
My sweet friend.

Who never leaves me in distress,
and always lifts me out of stress
who always sows seeds of kindness?
My sweet friend.

Never will I this gem deny!
whether I fall, fumble or fly,
our lovely bond will never die.
My sweet friend.

Under the sun and in the rain,
in fiery furnace and fountains
our love will rise, radiate and reign.
My sweet friend.

I love converting happiness and hurts to hymns, I love turning pain and pleasure into poetry. Today, I decided to turn the tales in my head into tributes, eulogizing every sweet soul that has been a blessing to me. Thanks to all my sweet friends and family.

Love, Lines and Landmarks

I have never been this emotional while writing a piece. It’s been 7 years of sweet moments and memories as a blogger. Yaaaaay! It’s also my first time of making a special post to celebrate the sweet souls who make WordPress a sanctuary of sort for me.

I have shared how rough and tough 2020 was for me; how I was hopeless, helpless and homeless for months, but I must say that the amazing family and friends I met here made me sail through that stormy season without drowning in depression.

During my downtime, I read a lot of inspiring and uplifting pieces that made me discover the beauty and blessings of adversity. It’s comforting to know that someone is here to read my teardrops in word.

I started 2020 with over 100 followers but now, my WordPress family has gotten bigger and stronger.

With every notification of a new follower I get, I see an amazing being with distinct skills, expertise, experiences, ideas and viewpoints, having something valuable to lend and learn. This is not about having stats and figures to flaunt, but a family to do life with.

I started blogging to share my heart and art with others, to inspire and encourage them. I never knew that it’s going to be a safe space that will give me solace, succour and strength someday.

I’m grateful to you all for being a part of my blogging journey so far, especially those who gave me their shoulder to lean on. I’m grateful for every single like, comment, share and reblog. I feel encouraged by your engagements with my blog and every single post.

This platform has helped me to achieve the following:

Be a blessing to people through written and spoken words.

Connect with fantastic people from different countries and co-write articles with great minds.

Be a better writer, content creator and communicator.

Share of the wisdom, wonders and wealth of fellow bloggers through their contents.

Thank you all once again for your engagements and encouragement. As my way of celebrating you all, I am giving out a free copy of my new book Whispers of Winners (Daily Edition) to all my friends. Download it here.

Feel free to share your thoughts about my blog in the comment sections. Cheers to many more love, lines and landmarks. Thank you.
