I choose to be a sacred sanctuary. It does not matter whether I am a cottage in a slum, or a castle with a luxury lawn. Whatever I am, I will welcome divinity into myself with arms open wide. I want heaven’s glow to be evident, as a signal glimpse of the bliss within me.
If my roof is thatched, let it be the shadow of the Almighty. If my tank is half full, let its content be the water of life. If all I have left is five loaves of bread, let it be blessed by Jireh. I want to hungry, thirsty and desperate for more of God’s love, light and life.
I want to shine with shalom when my heart quakes with cares or when the rod of life breaks my passion that I silently crash into a million broken pieces. A million messy pieces, a million scars proclaiming God’s mercies every morning.
I want to lie down in green pastures, and make God’s promises the pillows on which I lay my hurting head. When my thoughts are nothing but a colourful crown of thorns that fuels grief and starves my faith, I will hold them with hope, and nurture them with truth, until they evolve into a wreath – a diadem of grace around my head.
I will not plunge into the pool of self-pity, panic and pressure. With joy, I will draw water from the well of hope and salvation. Whether the day is dark or the twilight stars sleep in despair. God is in this temple, heaven is here. there is light in tunnels and dark alleys, there is joy in the valley of shadows.
I am a portrait of possibilities, I am here to happen, and made to manifest. I am salt, I am lustrous light, I am God’s sanctuary. I am enough.
I was sauntering, desperately searching for perfection, I got broken while passionately trying to fix this perpetual puzzle. Who said there is a missing piece? Who said I need some unravelling? I wish I had known that I am enough and everything I crave is within me.
Struggling to prove my worth, I became blind to my uniqueness. Some said a facelift is all I needed to finally find and deploy my gift. Who said I am broken beyond fixing? Who said I need to be flawless? I wish I had known that I am enough and everything I crave is within me
Craving for validation, I became a slave to conditional love starved of authentic attention till I became bereft of inner bliss. Now I filter people’s opinion about me with the lens of pure love and light. I wish I had known that I am enough and everything I crave is within me.
I believe that everyone is born for a purpose and we all dispense different flavours and colours of divinity. Have you figured out your flavour? What makes you unique? Please share in the comment section.
Have you ever felt depressed after viewing videos and different photos on social media? Have you ever wondered why every other person seems to be doing better than you because of the things they post online? Do you see yourself as the last and the least among your peers based on your current struggles and status?
You are not alone, many of us are on this table.
However, the truth is, some of us have failed to realise that success is not always about growing faster and bigger, it is sometimes about growing deeper and stronger. Most deeply-rooted plants do not bear fruits rapidly, but they grow stronger, last longer and eventually produce more fruits than shallow-rooted plants.
Don’t feel worthless because you are not producing the kind of results others are producing. Not every form of growth is noticeable. Celebrate your small wins. Your little effort may not attract great ovation and accolades. Take solace in the fact that God’s approval is more important than men’s applause.
Don’t be jealous of the greener grass on the other side, focus on your field, water your ground with pride and engage grace for sustainable growth. Don’t get depressed by the growth and greatness of others, celebrate them and build up faith for your rising.
Rising first or rising fast cannot be compared to rising fully and remaining fruitful. Don’t rush the process, don’t ignore the principles. Success happens in stages and cycles.
Keep developing and deploying your gifts, don’t be pressured by the progress of others. Comparing yourself to others based on their result is an insult to the investment of God in your life. We are all wired to win. Celebrate those who are winning.
Identify your grace, find your pace, occupy your space and run your race. You are not created to be better than anyone, God created you to be the best version of yourself.
No one is doing better than you. You are designed to be different. You are destined to make a difference. Your difference is your shade of excellence. Everyone has enough space and grace to win.
The fact that your growth is not striking does not mean you are stagnant. The fact that your belly is not protruding doesn’t mean you aren’t pregnant. Success has different expressions and dimensions. You are pregnant with grace and greatness.
You are not lost or left behind. Focus on what God is doing within you, and not on the things happening around you.
Don’t settle too soon, keep grinding. Don’t settle too small, keep growing.
Thank you for reading. I believe that this article has blessed you, kindly share it with your friends and family. Save a soul (smiles). Do well to drop a comment too. You know I love feedback. 🥂🥂🥂❤❤
Having been so busy lately, I couldn’t publish a blog post to celebrate my seventh blog anniversary on the 1st of March.
Time has flown and I still can’t believe it’s been seven years of pouring out my heart to generate international influence. It’s all because of my loyal and loving family (followers) who are simply the sweetest. I thought of doing something spectacular and so I will be sharing 7 things you don’t know about me. I’m not a mystery guy, so let me share my history with you all.
I was born on the 29th of August 1986 into a polygamous family in Lagos, Nigeria. I believe that my name, Adeleke is God’s greatest gift to me through my parents. Adeleke is a royal name which means ‘The crown triumphs’. I was born into battle, and I needed a prophetic assurance that I am wired to always win. My parents separated shortly after I was born. I was raised by my mom who was a devoted Christian and disciplinarian. She raised me and my siblings to be contented and steadfast in our quest for success.
I had to peddle goods with my siblings till I was 16. However, amid the hustle and bustle, I created time to read books and write articles.
I started writing at age 10, but I wrote my first poem at 17 and it’s titled ‘Hope For Tomorrow’. In 2005, I started publishing my poems online despite my limited access to the internet at that time. My resilience paid off as I received my first international poetry award on poetrysoup.com in 2008. I have written over 10 songs and 8 has been produced by both locally and internationally.
I get all my support and encouragement from divine connections outside my family. I believe that my family find it hard to encourage me because they believe that I should focus my mental energy on a financially regarding venture. I was discouraged by their actions and apathy even after I won 30 USD for my fourth place win in the Poetrysoup international poetry contest in 2008.
Publishing my first book was a major miracle, God gave me vital connections that made me realise that family is more about bond and affection, and not blood-connection. God blessed me with a community that gave me all the necessary support to publish Whispers of Winners during the total lockdown in 2020. I draw strength to keep writing from God, the voices in my head and the great community I belong to both online and offline.
I am also surrounded by an amazing Church family who celebrates and appreciates my budding writing skill.
My experiences while growing up made me comfortable with solitude. Loneliness was my closest friend until I started drowning in the ocean of depression at 18. However, a vital part of me is extremely open and friendly. I don’t keep a lot of friends but I try to be loyal and loving to the few folks I’m able to bond with.
I had my first girlfriend in 2009 when I was in my final year at university. The relationship lasted for about three years. It ended due to infidelity. For me, honesty and loyalty are sacrosanct, if they are lacking in a relationship, I’ll jump out of the ship. I had a few random relationships until 2018.
In December 2018, I proposed marriage to a lady but we had to go separate ways because I was very impatient and she was extremely dishonest and disloyal. Since then, I’ve decided to stay single and celibate, and also use my time and talent to serve God and humanity. It’s not been an easy journey but it’s been rewarding and blissful.
What I do for fun.
I love seeing movies and hanging out with my closest friends.
My biggest fear/greatest goal.
Poverty. I tasted real poverty while growing up and I dread it like the plague it is. I have dreams that are bigger than my brain and my budget and I want to generate the king of wealth that will make me have a transgenerational impact
I want to get millions of people around the world out of poverty and hunger; two things I suffered while growing up. I want to bring hope and help to those in need. I desire to make the world a better and happier place.
My greatest achievement so far
I would say bagging MSc in Measurement and Evaluation is my greatest achievement so far. Not only because I sponsored myself with my meagre income at that time but because I sacrificed a lot with the help of God to achieve the kind of grade I desired. at was during my master’s degree program that I developed Ulcer. It’s worth the sacrifice. (Smiles)
My greatest regret:
I’m not sure I have regrets anymore. I’ve learned to leave my past errors0 where they belong and live my best life, right here right now. I regret nothing and worry about nothing.
‘Amazing Grace’ is the sweetest sound I have ever heard, next to this is your voice gently saying “I love you” while I’m wrapped in your warm embrace. Today, I want to reassure you that I love you more. I love you more than the sweetest pleasures and the deepest pains of life. I love you more than the brightest days and darkest nights we’ll ever see.
You may have been called some sweet and beautiful names by some deceptive and unserious lovers but let me reassure you that you are not my sunshine because you do not rise in the morning and set at night. You are not the love of my life but the life of my love because you are love expressed in body, soul and spirit. Your brilliance reminds me of the rainbow
a symbol of grace and heaven’s glow, you flaunt God’s colour and unravel His flavour everywhere you go. Everytime I look into your eyes, I catch a glimpse of paradise, now I know that heaven is not a mysterious place beyond the skies, but somewhere deep within our hearts, a place where God rules and reigns. You are bred from royal and radiant bloodlines a blend of beauty and bliss far beyond skylines.
This love that we share is a bed of roses, I will forever relish its fragrance and harness the thorns it throws at us. I need you to understand that the symphony of your spirit affirms the rhythms of my soul. Every note, every bar, and every beat make a matchless melody, a rhapsody of eternal love, pure and true. A love made in heaven, assembled on earth and built for eternity. This is not another love letter but a timely reminder that you are designed to be desired and created to be craved. You are God’s work of art that I love the most. A masterpiece modelled by the Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Happy Valentine’s Day my friends. Just a quick reminder that whether you are someone’s one and only, or you feel lost and lonely. You are loved by the One who is Love, God. Have fun and don’t lose faith. ❤❤❤How are you doing today?
The loudness and fierceness of your storms do not signify the silence or absence of God. He is always near and speaking… Storms always run out of water But God never runs out of peace. If He seems silent amid the storms, Pay attention, He is speaking to you. If He doesn’t calm the storms, then, He is out to strengthen you. Reach out to Him in prayer, Rest on His promises, rethink, Relax and raise a sound of praise!
No matter how fierce that storms of life may be, be still and know that God will never leave you helpless and hopeless. Raise your voice in prayers and raise a sound of praise. The storm will soon be over.
Everyone is wired to win, but pain is a part of the package… Everyone is beautiful within, and every mess passes a message.
2020 has been a year of countless shades of grey and grace for a lot of people around the world. Some folks believe that it’s a year of strange storms that had turned warriors to worms.
My friends, whatever the atmosphere around you looks like, I believe that you will certainly set your emotions in motion to cause a positive shift if you ignite the forces of faith within you.
The forces of fear will tell you loud lies but it’s up to you to either retreat or reply with timeless truths. Whenever the storms of life and the shadows of death show up to shut you down, be audacious!
Don’t stay silent, speak to the wind and the waves, tell them that you are unsinkable. Speak to fear and failure, tell them that you are unbeatable. Speak to sorrow and stress, tell them that you are unbreakable. Speak to losses and limitations, tell them that you are unstoppable.
If you get weak or weary, feel free to rest, reset, re-strategize, relaunch and reach for greatness, but don’t be tempted to quit the quest. You are made to manifest, you are created to conquest.
I am glad to inform you that you are a carrier of authentic audacity, and this kind of audacity often gets amplified by adversity.
Life is scripted to be a potpourri of pains and pleasure. There will be highs and lows, whispers and roars, many many shades of shadow. However, you are a key player in this theatre called life. Your heart is the centre stage and the world is your audience. Everything on earth can hear and heed your commands.
Speak to your storm, and sail steadily. You will win.
Make it a habit to speak victory all the time. I recommend that you get a copy of Whispers of Winners, a compilation of positive affirmations that attract all-around victory.
There are two kinds of influencers in our world; the noisemakers and the newsmakers.
According to the World Health Organisation, in 2018, there were an estimated 405 000 deaths from malaria globally, compared with 416 000 estimated deaths in 2017, and 585 000 in 2010. On the other hand, according to reports on Wikipedia, it is estimated that over 250 people are killed by lions every year.
Mosquitoes have killed more humans than what lions can boast of, yet the sound of mosquitoes is nothing compared to the roar of lions. Impact has never been about the size, sight and sound of a thing but it’s capacity to have an evident effect.
The lion is regarded as the king of the jungle, mosquitoes don’t even have a place in the jungle, yet, statistics show that mosquitoes have more impact on our world than lions. Influence has nothing to do with titles and labels.
The roar of a lion shakes the earth but the bite of a mosquito causes death (if not attended to). The difference is found in the capacity to have put more emphasis on influence than tags and titles . The sun does not shout to shine, salt is not seen in meals but its effect is prominent.
Who is a newsmaker and who is the noisemaker?
Newsmakers are those who make the world a better place with their beauty, brains and brawn, but noisemakers are those who make the world a bitter place with their attitude, abilities and actions.
Life is beautiful because some angels decided to dwell on earth and make this world an extension of paradise, I guess you are one of them. These angels are newsmakers. They beautify everything and everyone around them.
Life can also be awful just because some terrorists refuse to stay in hell, they decided to become tourists in this realm. These folks are noisemakers, they wreck everything and everyone they come in contact with. Noisemakers shout, newsmakers shine.
Every human has an innate capacity to be powerful and impactful irrespective of their size, strengths and setbacks. However, positive impact requires a certain amount of distinct ingredients.
What are the Ingredients of Influence?
Intentionality: this is the power of minds to represent, or to stand for something significant. What do you stand for? Everyone is born with unique skills and talents but not everyone maximizes their potentials. Intentionality positions you to find your purpose and helps you attract the right people. Find your voice and reach your audience with a clear purpose.Ingenuity: Originality is the spice of true impact. Imitation is not just limitation but suicide, a person who refuses to be distinct will always live as a ghost in the market place. Carve a niche for yourself. Build a brand.Integrity: Don’t fake it till you make it. A lie is lame, it needs more lies to stand for a while, only to fall and fail eventually. To have indelible influence, be honest to a fault. Do you thing without pretence or falsehood.Information: you cannot give what you don’t have. Talent has never been enough. The more you know, the more you grow. Invest in getting the right information about your scope and sphere of influence. When you develop yourself, you deliver better.Inspiration: When you have a powerful ‘love language’, even your mess will become a message. See the positive side of everything and help others to see beauty even in ashes. Be a problem solver. See the best in others and help them achieve it. Add value to life with your voice and your vision.
I challenge you today to be a newsmaker and not a noisemaker. You are here to happen, you are made to manifest.
