Tapestry of Testimonials #1

Self-esteem, also known as self-worth, is the impression people have of themselves. The feeling of being valuable and liked. Your self-esteem involves a variety of notions about yourself, such as your appearance, your emotions and how you measure your achievements or failures.

Over the years, I have had seasons when I doubted my worth. Days when I feel unloved and unworthy of life. In some of these moments, by divine providence, some of my friends send nice notes to me in the form of testimonials, quotes, poems or compliments. This helps me to connect to my core and also realise that I am not as worthless as I feel in my darkest hours.

I will be sharing some of these testimonials in my new blog series ‘Tapestry of Testimonials’. Enjoy these beautiful pieces written by my amazing sister and friend from the Philippines, Alerma Grace. We met on Yourquote.in and grew to become best friend’s. I call her my Sweet Sister Bear (SSB)

How do you deal with low self-esteem? Do you think validation from others helps to boost self-esteem?

My Sweet Friend – A Poem

Who taught my weary soul to smile,
and helps me go the extra mile
whose arms of love make me agile?
My sweet friend.

Who gives me pleasure in my pains,
and holds my hands in tough terrains
till I harvest sweet golden grains?
My sweet friend.

Who never leaves me in distress,
and always lifts me out of stress
who always sows seeds of kindness?
My sweet friend.

Never will I this gem deny!
whether I fall, fumble or fly,
our lovely bond will never die.
My sweet friend.

Under the sun and in the rain,
in fiery furnace and fountains
our love will rise, radiate and reign.
My sweet friend.

I love converting happiness and hurts to hymns, I love turning pain and pleasure into poetry. Today, I decided to turn the tales in my head into tributes, eulogizing every sweet soul that has been a blessing to me. Thanks to all my sweet friends and family.

From Grave to Garden – My 2020 Story

I thought I was going to die after losing all my savings to a fraudster on the 18th of September, 2020. It seems everyone learnt something the hard way this year.

After this incident, I became broken, bitter, hopeless, and homeless. It was the beginning of a draining and devastating wilderness journey. It felt as if all the forces of life was against me. I couldn’t feel myself for weeks.

I have always believed that rock bottom is a place of recovery and discovery, but I must confess that it’s hard to focus when one is going through the flood and flames of life. I began to look for ways to get justice.

I disconnected myself from almost everyone; I couldn’t bear the pain of explaining how stupid I was to my friends. The most devastating part of it was that, eighty percent of those I shared my pain with couldn’t help, some even acted like they don’t care.

It was then that God caught my attention and started speaking to me. The most assuring word He gave me was, “You were not defrauded; you were delivered.”
Well, I had no other option than to trust the only One who never left me in that stormy season.

My hope of getting justice quickly was dashed as the court where the case was to be heard got burnt during the EndSars protest in Nigeria. I became more devastated and had to take leave from work.

After a while, I started studying the Bible more and spent more time in prayers. Then I began to discover the power of faith backed up with the spoken word. I was inspired to start speaking ‘restoration with compensation’ into existence. After a while, I got approached by the superior of the agent that defrauded me. They decided to have an out-of-court settlement.

On the 18th of December, 2020, exactly three months after I was defrauded, I got my money back. God is faithful, and yes, He hears the whispers of winners!
I know a lot of people may have suffered some form of loss/defeat, and trusting God for recovery and victory.

After the traumatic experience, I was inspired to write a book of daily declaration of victory, Whispers of Winners (Daily edition). This book is inspired by God, and I believe that it will help every user to maximize the power of the spoken word. It is not just a compilation of positive declarations, but a faith-booster for unlimited victory.

Words are powerful tools for complete and permanent victory. However, words are powerless without faith! Faith gives our words wings to fly.

Faith brings confirmations out of affirmations
Faith brings precious possessions out of confessions
Faith helps us to take delivery of our declarations
Faith brings evidence out of expectations
Faith is the magnet of supernatural manifestation.

As you use this book, speak with faith in your heart and pay attention to the divine signals and triggers, God will give you specific instructions, write them down and take prompt action. I trust that this book will be your visa to unending victory in Jesus name.

Follow Whispers of Winners on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as my team will be sharing daily affirmations every day. Also, special monthly declarations will be live on Anchor Fm.

Happy new year to you all. Thank you for being a great part of my blog this year. Kindly share my new book with your friends. Thank you.

Thoughtful and Thankful

Appreciation is not merely an alluring attitude, it’s an application for more allocation.

Hurray! It’s the season for gratitude, giving, and gathering with a lot of turkeys to grab and grub. It may feel like there is nothing much to be grateful for because of the man twists and turns of 2020.  Your Thanksgiving celebration plans might be a bit different because of Covid, you don’t need a masterplan to make a masterpiece...

Whether you’ll be celebrating with your family or maybe you’ll be spending the holiday all by yourself.
Don’t let the lockdown make your frown, do all you can to reflect, relax and rejoice. It’s Thanksgiving!

Amid the strange storms I have face this year, what is there to be thankful for?

I am thankful for many things: I published my first book this year, I had my biggest financial breakthrough ever, though I was betrayed by a friend and I lost everything. Rock bottom becamee a place of discovery and recovery for me. I now spend more time to read and engage in personal development programs. I am still believing God for rest, restoration and compensation, but I am thankful for His love, light and all the blessings of life.

I am particularly thankful for new friends and family on WordPress. You all sprinkle loads of sweetness with your warm words. I decided to share my Thanksgiving poem with y’all since I can’t share some grilled turkey with you due to social distancing (winks).

Thank You Lord

For the beauty that eyes cannot see,
For the blessings of glow and glee
For life’s bliss so fill and free
Thank You, dear God.

For yearly doses of hope and delight,
For daily loads of love and light,
For tranquil desires at twilight,
Thank You, dear God.

For the strength to run life’s race,
For smiles garnished with grace
For warmth in every embrace.
Thank You, dear God.

For lifted spirits during the lockdown,
for converting every cross to crown,
For raising us when we fall,
Thank You, dear God.

For sunlight and refreshing raindrops
For sweetness wrapped in teardrops,
For the harvest of cash and crops,
Thank You, dear God.

For good health in Covid-19 pandemic,
For meals that heal and life’s tonic,
For saving us from pain and panic,
Thank You, dear God.
