A few months ago, I went through a severe storm that almost made me drown in depression again.
What kept me afloat was the last strand of my faith in God. I have lost many friends in the process, I felt completely lost and lonely. I became weak and weary. I kept my eyes on mountain tops even in the darkest rock bottom.
Life became a dark tale of pain and pressure but through it all, I held onto God, He kept me safe and made me sail through without losing my joy. In the midst of it all, His love became more real to me, His light guided me, and His joy was my strength. I am still healing. I am still believing in God for total restoration. My faith still stands in the deep.
In all of this, I have learned to be thankful even when I’m going through hell and high water. God knows, God sees, God hears. Thank you for reading.
Be encouraged my friends. Praise Him even in your pains.
A man who keeps walking back to an ugly past should not expect to arrive at a beautiful future.
Life is a perfect place for imperfect people. No matter how loving and caring we are, we sometimes hurt ourselves knowingly or unknowingly.
Some offences are forgivable while some seem to be unforgivable in magnitude. Their impact can be devastating and life-threatening. However, love is still the answer to the questions of every broken heart.
We don’t have to forgive everyone who wrongs us but we need to give ourselves the freedom to live and love again – this is only possible when we forgive. The fact that someone hurt us should not make us stop living our best life.
An offence should not automatically become a death sentence to the offended person.
Some people do not deserve our forgiveness for what they’ve said or done. But if we desire to live in peace and joy, we must choose to make our hearts a paradise where love reigns, and not a prison where we nurse negative emotions.
Don’t stop living your best life because of your worst experience. A flower does not stop blooming because it is planted in dirty soil. Find healing in that hurt. Find meaning in that mess.
Stop cheating yourself, and stop allowing your emotions to cheat you. The time you are using to replay the terrible experiences you’ve had with people can be used to rebuild your life. The time you are using to plan revenge can be used to seek genuine recovery and restoration.
Revenge can bring a false feeling of relief but it will never guarantee complete freedom from pain. Revenge often creates two damaged losers, no one wins eventually. There is no point in being even with an evil person.
Shun the desire to have a tie with a terrible person. Play a better game, win with love. If revenge will bring you recovery, go for it. I just know that you don’t cure headaches by hitting your head hard.
Revenge creates a cycle of rage and resentment while forgiveness creates a fountain of freedom and fulfilment. The choice is yours.
Forgiveness is sometimes a hard choice to make when the wound is still fresh and painful, but with patience, prayers and intentional pursuit of peace, it becomes easier to forgive.
Today, submit your heart to God in prayers, seek His love and let Him take care of the pains that time can not heal. Seek counselling and therapy if need be. Don’t keep sinking in self-pity and hopelessness. There is more for your life.
Finally, remember that looking good, living a better life and loving yourself more is the best revenge. Seek the best revenge!
Hey friends, I have not been publishing my writings for a while because I’ve been recuperating and I’m in a process of career transition. I missed you all.
How do you deal with offences and offenders? Please share in the comment section.
With all the pains and devastating experiences going on in the world, it is now easier to drift into discouragement. A lot of folks feel lost and lonely. Secret tears and valid fears have overwhelmed many souls. Everyone needs a miracle. Our world needs healing, hope and help.
While you are praying for a miracle don’t forget that you are one too. You are a blessing to our world. Don’t magnify your past and present mistakes. Don’t amplify the voice of your pains. You are a perfect portrait of God. You are pregnant with possibilities. How I wish we all can happen for good to ourselves.
Life is not all about highs and lows, there is a point in between the darkest night and the brightest day where you have to create radiant realities. You have all it takes to shift atmospheres. Don’t feel worthless or hopeless. Your struggles are a sign that there is something significant about your life.
Shine your light in the tunnel, don’t wait till you get to the end. Use the key of gratitude to unlock the limitless possibilities within you. Focus on the blessings around you, the beauty within you and the brighter days ahead of you. Your darkest valley is not a place of residence but a point of reference. Keep being the hero of your story.
Ask God for grace to grow stronger while you go through the flood and flames of life. Cry for help if you have to. Retreat if you need to. Seek a professional assistant if you have to. Find every positive possible way to get up and get better.
You may feel buried under the weight of pains and pressure but your life won’t end like this. See yourself as a seed planted to die, decay and flourish eventually. The painful process you are going through does not nullify the beautiful product you will ultimately produce. Cultivate yourself with positive thoughts, right actions and good relationships. Pray fervently and trust God to see you through. You are a winner, enforce your victory. Spread love and light in every little way you can.
Have an amazing day my friends. I love you all. ❤❤❤
I always get tempted to worry about the things I can’t change, but at the end of the day, I discover that there has been a ready-made solutionn for those things, and my worry was worthless.
We all get tempted to worry about certain situations on our lives, and it seems Covid has made anxiety a more acceptable way of dealing with issues.
However, we all must realise that the major difference between worry and concern is this: a worried person tries to carry a mountain, and a concerned person tries to climb a mountain.
This reminds me of this old parable.
Death walked toward a certain city. The watchman of the city stopped Death and asked, “What are you going to do? “I am going to kill 20 thousand people,” said Death. The watchman went into the city immediately and warned as many people as he could. The next day, it was reported that 80 thousand people had died.
The man met Death again later that day and said, “You told me that you were going to kill 20 thousand people, but 80 thousand people died yesterday.” Death replied, “I only killed 20 thousand people, the other 60 thousand were killed by worry and panic”.
Anytime I have cause to worry, I remind myself that worry is not only a waste of time but the graveyard where peace and joy are buried. Why should I worry when I’m not a mortician?
Seven Features of Worry.
Worry is a profitless pressure. Like a rocking chair, worry will give you an activity to do, without a real achievement to show for it. It offers motion without movement.
Worry is a pointless pursuit: If you treat every stormy situation as a matter of life and death matter, you will live once and die a lot of times. We are born again every day, we all have more than one life to live: the good life, the better life, the sweet life, the old life, the new life, the impactful life, the beautiful life. Add yours. Life is vast.
Worry is a pitiable prison. Don’t turn a problem into a perpetual prison. Worry traps people in their old truth and stops them from rewriting their old story. Worry prevents people from enforcing necessary endings and enjoying new beginnings.
Worry is a painful paradise. The looming tragedies that worry projects are imaginary. They are not certain. Your worst fear may never happen at all.
Worry is a pathetic pastime. A pity party is not fun at all. No person will come knocking at your door asking to join your worry hang out. Worry puts you in a position where you feel comfortable with confusion and complications.
Worry is a pressure cooker. Worry saps a great deal of a person’s emotional energy and can leave him completely drained and depressed.
Worry is a parasitic partner. Worry never solves a thing, it makes you focus on the things that has gone wrong, and how they can get worse. Worry robs people of their peace, sleep, joy, hope, faith and love, and sometimes, it saps the life out of them.
How To Win Over Worry.
Tackle the trigger. Identify the root cause of your worry and find resources or people that can help you deal with it. The antidote to your greatest worry is sometimes just a call, a counsellor, a click away.
Fix your focus. Your priority matters. What you pay attention to will determine what you get. Life is operated on the ‘Pay As You Go’ system. If you pay attention to solution, you will get it.
Partner with Peace. Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God during troubles. We cannot control everything but we can create a system that sustains peace in the storm. Piece is always present but we need to position ourselves to enjoy it.
Pay attention to God’s promises. We do not hold the world in our hands, but if we can hold the hands of the God who holds the world, we will be safe. Life’s storm rages on its course, thriving through it all depends on our staying power and what we pay attention to. “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3.
Pray and Play with passion. Worry often makes people pray less. However, you don’t have to do long hours of prayers to snap out if worry. Panic is a wrong response to the things you can’t control. Prayer is the right response to things under God’s control. Take time to have fun too. Like people say around here “Problems don’t finish”. Success is a product of problems.
