Declaration of Victory Day 15

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3: 22 -23 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6 Declare […]

Declaration of Victory Day 15

Half-full or Half-empty

2020 started with high hopes and beautiful dreams, we all couldn’t wait to achieve our Vision2020.

Then Covid came, and it crushed the beautiful plans and projections of many folks. Widespread protest shootings and lootings disrupted many dreams; not forgetting the total lockdown and how it locked down many businesses.

This year has been different strokes for different folks but, no matter what life has thrown at you, there is a reason to be grateful for life.

Stop swimming in sorrow when happiness is free; pay attention to the blessings within you, the beauty around you and the brighter days ahead of you.

Give thanks for the good days, when smiles and sweetness flood your soul.
When great testimonies and songs of praises fill your mouth.

Give thanks for the hard days, when troubles and trials tear your heart apart. When it’s hard to wake up and you feel like giving up the fight.

Give thanks for friends and family, for fathers, mothers, sons and daughters,  everyone that reminds you that love is all that matters.

Give thanks for foes and frienemies, those who hate and hurt you for known and unknown reasons; because the stones they throw at you are your stepping stones to greater heights.

Give thanks for daily benefits, for weekly bonuses and monthly incomes. Be grateful for the businesses and career that put food on your table.

Give thanks for the heartbreaking emails and the painful loses. Be grateful for the pay cut and unpaid debts; knowing that every closed door is a redirection to bigger and better possibilities.

Give thanks for the raindrops falling from the skies, and for the teardrops falling from your eyes. Knowing that your secret storms and the fiery furnace of life are blessings in disguise.

Give thanks for every weakness and brokenness that makes you run to God for help, and for every fear and frustration that makes you fall on your knees to pray.

Give thanks, for God, is your strength and your salvation, the One who gives you rest and restoration, Be grateful for His redemption and revelation, and how He delivered your soul from destruction.

Give thanks, that despite the pandemic and the pain ravaging our world, God has been your sanitizer. His blood is the greatest vaccine that killed every virus on the cross of Calvary.

Give thanks for everything that came against you to steal your joy and peace, for they remind you that God is the prince of peace.

Give thanks for the valley of the shadow of death, and for the tunnels that remind you that God is with you, as a mighty and merciful One who will never leave nor forsake you.

Give thanks, for all things bright and beautiful, and for everything that made you sad and sorrowful, knowing fully well,  that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord, who are called according to His purpose.

Give thanks, because you still have greater victories to win, bigger territories to take, better stories to write and more mountains to conquer. I know the journey is tough and you are thirsty, but whether your cup is half-full or half-empty, be grateful that you cup that’s not empty. Drink what you have and be joyful.

Give thanks to the Lord, always, and again I say, give thanks.
Thank you.

Values and Vices – A Poem

One of the most expensive
veils in the world is ignorance.

One of the most destructive
vices in the world is arrogance.

One of the most powerful
values in the world is tolerance.

One of the most beautiful
virtues in the world is repentance.

A Man’s Mandate – A Poem

The future is female,
I wish we can all get there.
Some say “All men are scum”,
forgetting how we all got here.

Every man did feel
the warmth of an unseen womb,
the salinity of teardrops
and the terror of an unknown tomb.

Every man should feel
the substance of scarcity
and the pains of a pauper
in search of economic security.

Every man would feel
the eagerness to be a hero
in another man’s story
at the risk of dying in ground zero.

Every man could feel
the cold hands of duty
pulling him to insure and invest
in folks with whom he has no affinity.

If a man could choose
to heal the world and hurt his soul,
without batting an eyelid
this would be his greatest goal.

Not a scum, he is a son,
a seed nursed in alluring arms.
He is a father, uncle and brother
created to be charged by charms.

A Slice of Paradise – Poem

Your heart is a slice of paradise,
of course, I see stars in your eyes.
Your soul is a garden of grace,
it’s obvious in your warm embrace.
You’re a blend of bloom and bliss
a flawless flower I’ll forever kiss.
Help me unravel this contradiction,
stop inhabiting my imagination.

Open Arms and Pointed Finger

Some friends and family find it hard to assist you to get your business ideas and career prospect become a reality because they are in a social and financial competition with you.
Strangers find it easy to help you, sometimes because they do not feel any sense of competition.
Our greatest disappointment will not come from strangers but from close associates. Not really because they are bad people, it is in human nature to compete. We fast forget that our destinies and destinations differ.
However, it is important to know that help comes from God and He chooses to use the most unlikely people in the strangest of ways and in unknown places.
It is our expectations that get us disappointed, not the people we depended on for help.
Stop expecting too much from people, everyone has a cross to carry. Pursue your dream with open arm and not with pointed fingers. Stop blaming friends and start welcoming helpful strangers.
You are your own best friend and biggest fan.
Shalom,

Moments and Memories

Do not cry over the past, it has gone;
Forge ahead, the deed has been done.

Worry not over the future, God holds it;
let not present pains make you quit.

Today’s skies are bright and beautiful,
maximise it to make your world wonderful.

Worthless is the rainfall of yesterdays,
you cannot use its sunshine to make hays.

The future is but a mansion of mysteries,
worth the wishes but not your worries.

Yesterday is a hall of hopes and history,
it is gone, only to be told as a story.

All you have is this moment, be happy,
smile away your sorrows, make it snappy!

Today will never come again my dear,
fill your heart with faith, shun fear.

Each moment in life turns to memories,
use this moment to leave great legacies.
